The job description
As an engineering hero, you will participate in all phases of the software development cycle from product management, definition and design to implementation, documentation and be involved in technical decisions.
- Building, improving and maintaining computer vision AI code
- Propose, explore and benchmark new AI techniques to see if they are suitable for production
- You will make algorithms robust to different datasets and implement techniques to automatically optimize training or inference parameters
- You implement techniques to shrink models so that they can be run on peripherals with less GPU capacity.
- During the life of the algorithm, you are responsible for its evolution as the hardware and software libraries also evolve
- Communicate with the development team applying our products to customer solutions
- Communicate with software engineering colleagues and the teams building the underlying platform.
Your skills
You are comfortable stepping out of a data scientist sandbox and interacting with large codebases
- Passionate about finding new solutions to the most difficult computer vision problems by applying artificial intelligence
- You are pragmatic and do not reinvent the wheel in the field of machine learning
- You have ownership; you see tasks through to the end and want to delve into problems
- You are able to estimate and perform your tasks within an agreed time frame
- Master's degree in computer science or comparable based on experience
- 3+ years of experience with Python & Tensorflow, Pytorch or similar
- Experience with git, docker and similar tools
- A good understanding of deep learning within computer vision and a natural interest in AI research, e.g. self-supervised learning or 3D vision deep learning
- Heroic traits: integrity, commitment, enjoyment of work and the will to work together to achieve great things!
- Resident in Belgium and good in English and/or Dutch
